Every day it seems that we have a new project starting up. Things happen so fast - it gets pretty exciting around the shop most days. So we've decided to create a page for us - the staff at Georgia Sewing & Quilting, and here we'll post projects as they develop.
Some of these may not be available in our shop yet, because we like to test the products we sell, and make sure they work as stated. We can also help you more effectively with the projects when we've done them ourselves.
Bonnie's Projects: Bonnie has been quilting for over 20 years and has been at the shop since 2010. Her strengths are quilting on the Long Arm & selecting the perfect blenders for your project (she's the reason we carry so much ShadowPlay fabric). She is super helpful in deciding which is the best quilting design for your quilt and which threads to use for your project.
Nancyis our instructor for most of our classes. If you see a pattern you would like to make, or a new technique you want to learn, or if you just new a refresher course in basic sewing and quilting skills, Nancy can help you with all of them. She has been quilting and machine embroidery for 10 years, and teaching at the shop since 2012. She enjoys working with different colors and putting them all together. Shse is very patient and all her students love her. If we don't currently have that class scheduled, we will make it happen. Call the shop at 770-831-7990 for more information and/or a list of all of her current classes.
Betty's Projects: Betty has been quilting for over 60 years. She started at the shop in 2008. Her strengths are hand binding (she's a "pro" at this!) and she keeps us laughing with her jokes. She also makes a great pound cake & other delights.
Melissa's Projects: Melissa took her first quilt class in 2008, then stepped away from it until February 2018 when she returned to quilting, and her happiness. She has been a great asset when she started at the shop in 2018. She is great at finding the perfect fabric and color for you.
Elleda’s Projects:Elleda started at the shop in 2009, and has been quilting since 2000. She comes with many talents - quilting and teaching. She is a traditional quilter but loves art quilts as well. Her background in Merchandising keeps our shop looking great.
Cheryl's Projects: Cheryl has been quilting since 1999, with her first quilt being king size. It took a year to piece it and a year to hand quilt it. She is a traditional quilter but loves to learn new techniques and play with new fabric. She also loves to hand quilt and work with wool and flannel.
