Our Mission Statement
To provide a positive environment for our customers and community so that they may learn and express creative art through sewing, quilting and embroidery!!!

Sandra, Betty, Leigh Ann, Jeanne, Hertha, Joan, Jenelle
Imagine........

The staff at Georgia Sewing & Quilting have an exciting and ambitious dream...... and our shop is the expression of that dream.  We're dreaming of a sewing center and quilt shop that is totally focused on our customers.  We're imagining a vast array of exciting classes for every age and every skill level, where we can explore new techniques and the latest in ideas along with you.  We dream of a focus on hospitality and developing wonderful friends who might just hang out with us in the comforts of our shop.    Did we let our dreams run away with us?  We surely hope so!

We have become the very best of friends.
Each and every day that we're together, we learn from one another.  We meet with suppliers together - searching for the best the sewing world has to offer.  We attend training and events together, always learning.  We're creating designs and patterns - and finding others who create - to bring you new and exciting projects and ideas.  We share our creations, we discuss and plan, we sew, we enhance our results, we plan some more.....

We have been sewing and crafting since our earliest childhood days.  In one form or another, we have always had our hands engaged in some element of the creative arts and/or computer development.

Leigh Ann keeps the HQ Sixteen® humming along.  She coordinates the rental on the machines, teaches the HQ classes, and also does a beautiful job quilting customers' quilt tops.

Sandra can usually be found on one of the shop's computers.  She loves embroideries of all kinds, especially the Jenny Haskins line.  She is quick to jump into a new software program and gets ecstatic over the seemingly endless possibilities.  She, along with Joyce, leads the two embroidery Sew & Share Groups that meet monthly at our shop.

Joan keeps our inventory updated and handles the new shipments as they arrive, she also teaches many of the quilting classes.  But her most challenging efforts go toward trying to keep Jeanne straight!

Betty, Hertha, Joan & Leigh Ann are our fabric experts! They each love fabric: the feel, the textures, the color-ways, and the opportunities for personal expression.  And did I mention their knowledge and instincts for color coordination?  Oh yeah!  They also know sewing: tools, notions, machines, techniques.....  Expect very creative things from these ladies as we each bring our creative ideas into play.  Expect our shop to evolve and change.

Hertha, Joan, Leigh Ann & Sandra are responsible for most of our shop samples.

Jeanne, the shop owner, keeps our website up-to-date with the latest happenings, coordinates the class schedules and oversees the purchasing for the shop, although we all participate in our fabric selections.

We also supplement our staff with some of the best teachers around, and we rely upon them heavily. We know that without our talented teachers, we would not be a fully functional sewing center.

Whether it's a special class you've been looking for, a unique sewing technique, a great quilt design, a beautiful embroidery design, or just the opportunity to share with other sewing enthusiasts, we hope you'll find our shop delightful... and we hope you'll enjoy many return visits.

And About Our Shop...

Georgia Sewing & Quilting is a trend-setting new store for quilters, sewing enthusiasts and embroiderers of all ages.  We are located on the northeast side of Atlanta, Georgia, just off I-985 in Buford. Our goal is to supply all sewing enthusiasts with the very best and newest in beautiful fabrics, embroideries, designs and ideas, fibers, embellishments, notions, books, and patterns, while offering the friendiest and most knowledgeable training and customer service anywhere.

We specialize in the best products at very fair prices, and we back our sales up with a wide selection of classes to get you sewing quickly with beautiful results.  We also provide excellent service and repair to ensure that you have the best possible experience.

We are currently offering about 25 classes per quarter that cater to sewing enthusiasts and quilters of all levels. We have special classes for our youngest sewing enthusiasts - the kids in our lives.  Our beginning classes are designed to equip anyone new to sewing or quilting with all of the foundational knowledge needed for a lifetime of creativity. You will be amazed at the beautiful garments, home decoration enhancements, quilts, totes and bags that you can make with only a modest amount of experience and skill.

If you are an intermediate to advanced sewer, you will also find challenging classes that will expand your skills and open up areas of creativity not previously explored.

We also offer many software classes that will enable you to create beautiful styles that you might have only imagined before.  The beauty of landscape and art quilting is close to our hearts and we are building a generous selection of classes as well as supplies.
