Welcome to our world of Quilting, Sewing & Embroidery! We're here to share so many of the things we love with you.......
So, please take a few moments to settle back and enjoy the treats we have waiting for you on these few web pages and the opportunities you'll find at our shop. We hope you'll visit us soon! We look forward to seeing you.....
What is Row By Row Experience? Well, it's like a shop hop, but it's not... no fees, no cards to stamp, and all summer to play! Simply visit Georgia Sewing & Quilting or any of the other participating shops and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling throughout the summer. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows!
Prizes, collectibles and more fun!
Create a quilt using at least 8 different 2015 rows from 8 different 2015 participating RxR shops and be the first to bring it into our shop (or any participating shop) to win a stack of 25 fat quarters (6-1/4 yards of fabric!). Use our shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize - a $50 gift certificate! Click here for more details.
We also have the exclusive Fabric Plates™ by Zebra Patterns - which are so fun to collect. Each shop's license plate is unique! Collect a bunch to create fun projects, sewing studio wall art or even a fun backing for your quilt.
Georgia has our own Facebook page - www.Facebook.com/GARowByRowExperience. Visit the pages from the areas you visit to see pics of the rows, shop displays, winning quilts and fabric plate projects.

We offer a very popular class series called Beginning Quilting By Machine. You'll get eight 2-hour classes, in which we'll teach you all the basics for making your first lap-size or baby quilt. These classes are a perfect way to learn the best techniques for quilting for anyone with limited experience. It's also a great way for self-taught quilters to brush up on the best practices for quilting. Nancy Porter teaches this series, and her students love her! She occasionally offers a follow-up to this class, Advanced Beginning Quilting By Machine.
Nancy also offers a Beginning Sewing series (3 classes) periodically. The class is an introduction into sewing, perfect for anyone with a new machine, and also a great class for teens interested in creating their own designs.
Debbie teaches classes each month on free-motion quilting... Whether you're quilting with your home sewing machine, a sit-down machine - like the Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen, or a long-arm machine, you'll learn valuable techniques in Debbie's classes. She has won many awards with her beautiful quilts - Way To Go, Debbie!
Becky hosts our Mystery Club and Block-Of-The-Month (BOM) Clubs. Her current Mystery Club finishes up in February 2015, and she'll be starting a new 6-month BOM Club in March 2015, so stay tuned!
Our Embroidery Club groups are on hold right now. We hope to resume them soon, so check back often.
We carry a full line of Floriani stabilizers & threads, as well as Anita Goodesign embroidery designs. If you need help with your embroideries - whether software, stabilizers, threads or machine issues - come in and talk with our helpful staff, I'm certain we'll be able to help you out.....
Beginning in January of each year, we offer a new Sampler Club. Sign-up's are always held in the month of December, and the meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday and the 3rd Saturday of each month (you select which day is better for you).
March is a very busy month for us as we prepare for the Greater Atlanta Shop Hop! We also sponsor a booth at the Atlanta Original Sewing & Quilt Expo each March. If you are attending the show, stop by and visit with us.....
Each year we host a Christmas In July event, and this year will be no exception. We're always thinking up new ideas to showcase and delight you with, so we fill the shop with samples, Chrsitmas fabrics, patterns and techniques
Sandra now has 8 embroidery groups that meet monthly, each group at different levels of experience. She also offers various stand-alone embroidery classes from time to time - you do not have to be in one of her embroidery groups to take one of these. If you are interested in either joining a monthly group or signing up for one of her classes, call the shop and ask for Sandra (note: there is usually a waiting list!).
Our Handi Quilter National Educator, Mary Beth Krapil, is with us at least once each year for more hands-on long-arm training. In a few short days, we cram in as much as time allows: usually classes in Threads, Needles & Tension (TNT), Pro-Stitcher training, and free-motion quilting. Mary Beth always brings along lots of beautiful samples that she's created with new and creative techniques.
The delightful & charmingWalter Floriani joins us most years in August for a very informative session where he shares his very extensive knowledge on embroidery.
One Sunday afternoon in early December, we host a Christmas Open House. This is a time we set aside to gather with friends and to celebrate the coming season of Christmas.
We offer many different Technique Classes throughout the year. Let us know if you are interested in one of these and we'll notify you the next time it's offered again. If we don't have one scheduled soon, we'll do our best to add it to our class schedule:
Nancy occasionally offers many different technique quilting classes. Some of her recent offerings are: machine applique (with and without fusible interfacings), cathedral windows, paper-piecing, etc. She also offers classes based on popular books or quilt patterns, such as Underground Railroad, 3-D designs or Free-motion quilting. Many of the techniques she teaches can be used in quilting or to enhance your talents in fashion sewing or even home decor. Let us know if you're interested in any of these classes, or have another one in mind. Nancy will sometimes create a new class based on a request or recommendation
Sandra teaches a stand-alone embroidery class on Cut-work Embroidery. Cost for the class is $20.00 + kit fee. You'll learn the age-old technique of cut-work embroidery. This technique looks so elegant but Sandra will teach you a really easy way to accomplish an elegant cutwork guest towel.
Judy Jones teaches a monthly class for embroiderers using Floriani Total Control software. Each month is different - so check our latest newsletter for her class offerings.
We also schedule special guest teachers throughout the year, who teach new techniques and bring samples, new books, new tools, etc. and teach us how to use them. These are announced in our newsletters, so be sure to keep us updated with your email address to stay current with specail class offerings.
